More driving dynamics for Audi S3 and A3 sedan

The Audi A3 is one of the most popular compact models in Germany. Now we also have KW coilovers available for the new Audi A3 sedan, Audi A3 Sportback and Audi S3. The stainless steel KW coilovers allow a continuous lowering of up to 60 mm. The sporty Audi S3 can be lowered with KW coilover suspensions up to 30 mm. While the KW coilover suspension Variant 1 has a factory-set damping, the Variant 2 kit allows to further adjust the KW dampers in rebound with 16 clicks. Even more setup options are offered by the KW coilover suspension Variant 3. With a few simple steps it can individually be adjusted separately in rebound and compression damping, to further increase the driving dynamics of the A3 and S3.

After the KW coilovers for the Audi A3 are already available since early 2013, they are now available also for the new A3 sedan and the three Audi S3 variants of the 8V series. The continuous lowering is made directly on the stainless steel strut via the dirt-resistant KW trapezoid thread. At the front, the KW coilovers allow a continuous lowering within the German TÜV-tested adjustment range of 30 to 60 mm. The adjustment of the desired level at the rear is made at the rear axle height adjustment in the range of 30 to 55 mm. “Even for the 300-hp Audi S3 with its quattro drive and already from factory lower level, S3 fans still get more lowering with the KW coilovers”, says KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. For the S3 Sportback, S3 sedan and S3, a continuous lowering of 0 – 30 mm at the front and 5 – 30 mm at the rear is possible. While the KW coilover suspension Variant 1 has a factory pre-set damper setup, Variant 2 and Variant 3 can further be adjusted in damping characteristics within a few minutes.

Damper setup for individual driving demand

With the additional damper settings at the KW coilovers Variant 2 and Variant 3, S3 and A3 drivers can further adjust the KW basic setup to match their personal driving demands. If for example the released Audi wheel-/tire-combination is changed by a larger set of wheels, this can be taken into account with the adjustable rebound damping. With the integrated rebound adjustment with 16 exact clicks, the KW coilover suspension Variant 2 also allows to take influence on handling characteristics and comfort. Even more setting possibilities are given by the KW coilover suspension Variant 3. “Here we are talking about racing technology for the road”, Johannes Wacker describes the setup options of the KW coilover kit Variant 3, as in addition to handling and comfort, with the Variant 3 it can also be taken influence on rolling motions of the body with the separately adjustable compression damping and its twelve clicks, without having to change the rebound damping which perfectly matches the spring rate. “Even the tire characteristics of your high and ultra – high-performance road tires can be considered in the suspension setup.” With KW coilover, the Audi A3 and Audi S3 can be driven even more direct and safer at the limit. All three KW coilovers are made from a stainless steel alloy.
