As an internationally operating company, ABT Sportsline also wants to meet all its international customers’ needs, and that includes their languages. The new Webpages will soon also be displayed in Russian, Chinese, Dutch and Turkish, for example. They will also be geared to Switzerland’s multi-lingual situation. ABT’s brave new world of infotainment is thus modern, clearly structured and extravagant.

Receiving 29,9 percent of readers’ votes, the MTM Audi S4 Avant is the undisputed winner in it’s category tuning cars limousines up to 80.000 €. An excellent 3rd place received the Audi-MTM S5 Cabrio Michelle Edition with 15,3 percent.

11.392 sport auto readers cast their votes for their favourite cars in ten categories for tuning cars as well as in fifteen series classes.

That the German tuner is also a benchmark in regards to power enhancement has been honoured by the readers by voting ABT as “Best Brand” in the category “Motor-Tuning”. “That is the acknowledgement for our long lasting work. I am happy that the readers of “sport auto” do honour this,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the CEO of ABT Sportsline this double is the incentive to work on innovative, perfect and successful products.

MTM driver Florian Gruber has won the Sport Auto Tuner Grand Prix 2010 at the Hockenheim race circuit. The KTM X-Bow driver was nearly two seconds ahead of brand-mate Marko Klein. Patrick Simon with his Corvette rank took third place.

MTM participated with their current line-up of vehicles and most of them were Audi; the RS6 Clubsport, KTM X-Bow, Audi S1, Q5 3.0 TDI, A5 3.0 TDI, V8 DTM and R8 GT3-2.

Open-tops can be this good: with the ABT convertibles, based on the Audi A5, the Bavarian company has managed to create a masterpiece. The front grille, side sills, fender inserts and other bodywork parts provide the elegant design with an individual accent of sportiness and power. Correspondingly the performance improvements which ABT Sportsline has developed for the different engines of the A5 also perfectly suit the appearance of the convertible. Be it a 1.8 TFSI or 3.0 TDI – the extra ABT POWER of the ABT AS5 can be felt at all times. The top model is the open-top ABT S5, whose 3.0 TFSI now provides a full
435 HP (320 kW) instead of the series-standard 333 HP (245 kW).

Anyone looking for a premium vehicle amongst the compact cabrios buys the open-top A3. And those who want the car to be more dynamic and extravagant choose the ABT AS3. The designers from Bavaria have once again created a perfect tailor-made bodykit for this car. The rear apron, rear wing, the typical ABT 4-pipe rear muffler or the front spoiler insert make the cabrio more extroverted and give it a more confident sporty appearance from all sides. The performance improvements offered by ABT for the diverse machines fit their appearance: with both the petrol (1.4 TFSI, 1.8 TFSI und 2.0 TFSI) versions as well as the two diesel engines with two litre cubic capacity the engineers have designed an adequate amount of extra power. More HP, more torque and more driving agility – just like the R8 Spyder, AS 5 convertible or S5 convertible the open-top AS3 is also a "real ABT”. For these special vehicles ABT also, of course, offers a range of fitting alloys: the new, ultra-light CR or the BR with its “optimum thrust” harmonise with the outdoor sports cars. It goes without saying that ABT also offers the designer wheels in combination with fitting
high-performance tyres. So let the summer come...

For the first time, the ABT POWER Days will be offered simultaneously in German, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Great Britain at over 250 partners. Furthermore, the ABT Internet portal offers detailed information about the Chip Days and the traditional 20% discounts. The most important aid here is the POWER Flyer, which can be downloaded as a PDF file and gives information about which of the 15 price categories belongs to the respective customer vehicle. Two examples: the output of a VW Golf VI with 1.4 litre TSI is to be increased from the standard 160 PS (118 kW) to 210 PS (154 kW). This vehicle belongs in the price category 4, during the POWER Days the plus in performance generated by the ABT specialist only costs 1,192 Euro instead of 1,490. That is a saving of 298 Euro.

Similarly with an Audi Q5 with 3.0 TDI litres: after the "power spa", the extravagant coupé has a torque output of 282 PS (207 kW) instead of 240 PS (176 kW). This car is integrated into price category 6. The electronic increase in performance for this Q5 engine variation normally costs a reasonable 1,990 Euro, but from 17th to 27th April it is available for 1,592 Euro. Savings: 398 Euro.

The electronic increase in performance is of course perfectly geared to the respective vehicle. The factory exhaust emission is maintained, so there is no change in the motor-vehicle tax.

A tip for anyone that wants to experience that motor-racing feeling up close and personal: at the ABT Sportsline headquarters you can immerse yourself into a world of automobile high technology while your vehicle is being "treated". The electronic increase in performance takes around four hours. That is the perfect amount of time for a stroll through our attractive showroom, where the new ABT creations are presented. The company museum is also worth a visit: reminisce with technical highlights from past eras, and time will simply fly by. A trip to Kempten town centre with the Princely Residence, the Kornhaus or the St. Lorenz Basilica should not be missed. After all, technical innovations have been developed in these unique surroundings for over 113 years.

The cool and extravagant Coupe will show its best side in hall 5, as the designers from Allgäu have come up with a breathtaking bodywork kit for the vehicle. The AS5-R is also strong: 510 dynamic horsepower (375 kW) provides considerable power in every situation. For anyone who wants more than the standard 344 HP (253 kW), the eight-cylinder, tuned by ABT, is the perfect choice. Unfortunately the car also shows the disadvantage of a trade fair, as the AS5-R has to stay stationary.

The sports coupe is not, however, alone: the largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group will also be showing highlights from their current program in Geneva. On a surface of 153m2 and a light, elegant stand, the following stars from Kempten are also on view, alongside the AS5-R: the ABT Q5 is a car which cuts a good figure everywhere. The abbreviation “SUV” traditionally stands for “Sportlich Und Vielseitig [sporty and diverse]” at ABT and especially applies to the Q5. The ABT R8 is a real sports car, offering pure dynamics. It is not just the power which is right, but all of the aerodynamics have also been perfectly designed by the motorsport team of ABT for use in extreme conditions.

Nevertheless, the ABT R8 also looks breathtakingly beautiful. Another real eye-catcher is the ABT Scirocco, a landmark amongst compact Coupes. It goes without saying that this car is as sporty as it looks at the trade fair. In order to experience its huge driving enjoyment, you would have to drive out of the hall and around Lake Geneva...
