APR has released its ECU upgrade for the Audi R8 5.2L FSI V10 engine. The 5.2 V10 ECU upgrade recalibrates timing, air fuel ratios and other engine management paramaters and is available in octane specific versions for different markets.

APR claim the upgrade provides peak numbers of 583 horsepower and 431lb-ft. of torque, and gains of up to 53 FT-LBS of torque at lower rpms. At this time the APR ECU upgrade is offered as a single program only. Customers may choose APR software specific to their local fuel grades. North American customers can return to APR dealers to load APR’s stock recalibration or other available octanes.

Audi tuners have released more complete and integrated performance upgrades for the Audi R8 5.2 V10, which could limit the appeal of APR’s upgrade in this market.
